How FlexiSAF impacted my tech journey
Tech has always been a tiresome thing to me. However, my internship at FlexiSAF has made it so fascinating as all the theoretical part of what I have learnt over the years has been a daily practical routine. Thanks to the CEO of FlexiSAF and the entire team.
My experience at FlexiSAF has been and is still an incredible one. Firstly, I got to meet Kabir Pindiga who introduced me to FreeCodeCamp where I created an account and learnt HTML, CSS and Javascript. Prior to that, he interviewed me on what course I liked most. I indicated that to him as ICT. Although it started just as an introduction, but as time goes, I got full lectures on the aforementioned from Azeez Idris and Al-Amin Abdulkarim.
I would really like to acknowledge Azeez Idris as he has been of great help to me all through the internship program.
Subsequently, I was able to advance my programming skills and also learn many other things, part of which are: Advanced HTML, Advanced CSS, Advanced JavaScript, Vue.js and Bulma.
In addition, I was also introduced to GitHub, GitLab and Git Bash. I created a GitHub and GitLab accounts and installed Git Bash on my PC. This helped me to understand what actually it is and how to use its commands and started working with it.
From all what I have learnt, I have decided to put it into practice by developing a simple website with basic information about FlexiSAF’s CEO. The website has the following features: “Title, Home, About, Education, Work and Contact.” This trial website was built with the use of CSS, HTML and JavaScript though it is not hosted.
Knowledge was gained in other aspects but SAFSMS is what I was more engaged with because I was part of its team as a trainee and thus I learnt a lot working with it.
“SAFSMS is a complete school management system that automates every aspect of school operations. It includes useful features for school admin, teachers and parents such as online payments and school fees billing. It also has simple but powerful report dashboards, time table and lesson planning alongside result compilation and so much more.”
Summarily, my internship program at FlexiSAF has changed my perspective in tech. From a tiresome thing to a very fascinating one which has become a part of my life. I now excitedly look forward to using tech in solving real life problems and also use that to contribute in the development of my country and the world at large.
